baked donuts

cade made donuts. it's been two days and they're gone. plus, they're certified delicious by kate. they're super simple and fun to make. all you need are a few ingredients and a donut pan {which is the greatest thing ever invented by the way}.

what you need // for 9ish donuts but it really depends on the pan you have.
donuts:
5 tablespoons butter
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
2 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 cup milk

preheat oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit.

blend butter and sugar in a large bowl. add eggs and mix well.

in a separate bowl sift together flour, baking powder, and nutmeg. slowly add to butter and sugar mixture. mix in milk thoroughly.

fill greased donut pans 2/3 of the way. if you are not sure where 2/3 is fill the pan lower rather than higher, it makes more evenly sized donuts.

bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes, rotating pans halfway through.

glaze:
the glaze was a mixture of icing sugar and milk. i didn't really measure how much i did so you can experiment.

after the donuts have cooled for 8-10 minutes tap them out of their pans onto a cooling rack. let them cool for 10 more minutes.

when the donuts have cooled dip the top into the glaze and put into the fridge immediately. top with sprinkles and enjoy!

xoxo,
kate and cade
