hey guys, we were trying to think of a new blog post to start the blog when we got a lightbulb moment. we are going to tell you all about our names. our names are a piece of us and as a way of you getting to know more about us we thought we’d tell you the origin and some other cool facts.  it’s kind of the random sort of thing that this blog will be featuring {plus we got to learn more about our names so that was cool}. enjoy. {!}

kate: kate is normally short for katherine. its origin is from latin, french, english, and welsh. depending upon the context it could mean pure or blessed. or if you look in the urban dictionary then it means “a girls name for the coolest person you will ever meet” so technically you are meeting me through this blog which means… you just met the coolest person you will ever meet. there are also many famous people who have gone by the name kate, including kate dicamillo, kate middleton, kate spade, kate voegele, kate winslet, kate austen, kate baker {yes, i know these last two are fictional,}, and moi! as you can see there are many more but these are just some of the most famous {the last one especially :) }.

cade: my name is short for cadence. incase you’re still wondering, it is a girls name… just to eliminate any other possibilities. according to urban dictionary “a girl with an amazing sense of humor and personality. loves her friends and family. she has the most beautiful hair and eyes, and everyone wants to be just like her.” well you learn something new everyday. my name is actually a normal word {like in the normal dictionary, not the urban dictionary} and it means an inflection of the voice or a sequence of chords or notes. i think it’s cool that my name is linked to music as it’s something that i love and something that kate and i totally bond over :). there aren't really any famous cadences so if anyone knows any be sure to let me know {also because there are approximately fifty million kate things and it’s getting annoying {just kidding}}. and i go by cade. strictly cade {even though that’s a boys name according to urban dictionary}.

welcome to our blog

hello. welcome to our little corner of the internet. {yes, we know that’s totally cliche}. we started this blog to post about things of all sizes. things that mean something to us and things we hope will mean something to you, too. we both love harry potter, gabrielle aplin, paris, and spinning in circles {we’ll probably write a blog post about all of those at some point}. this blog will contain craft projects {or DIYs if you want to sound trendy}, posts about places we’ve been (or are going), reviews of books, and movies etc., and random blog posts that we feel like posting. we share a lot of similarities but are also very different. kate is excitable, happy, bubbly, and super duper smart. she laughs a lot and likes to talk {but not to strangers}. she's also super quick to think {that's code for don't try and fight her in a duel, or math problem fight thing, or anything really where you have to argue…}.  also she uses the smiley, blushing emoji too much. cade is super smart, always has a witty comeback, is super cool, and doesn’t care about what people think of her as long as she is comfortable with herself. cade moved across the country to california a few months ago and we thought this would be a cool way to stay connected {well that and endless hours of skype}.
